Jyväskylän Tanssiopisto (Jyväskylä Dance Institute) is a dance school run by the association Jyväskylän Tanssiyhdistys ry, providing basic education in dance (taiteen perusopetus, both extensive and general syllabi) for children, youth and adults. Teaching emphasises the joy and experiential nature of dance. Styles include ballet, contemporary, jazz and show dance, street dance and afro. It is the largest dance arts school in Central Finland with over 1000 weekly-class students annually. Its studios are located centrally at Vapaudenkatu 48–50.
